MANILA, Philippines — One person died and another was injured when a fire broke out at a residential neighborhood in Barangay Pinagbuhatanphclub, Pasig at dawn yesterday.

In a report, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said at least 60 families were displaced by the fire.

Authorities said they have yet to identify the 19-year-old fatality whose remains were recovered in one of the burned houses.

A 17-year-old man suffered a laceration in his left foot.

The BFP said the fire started at 3:47 a.m. along Acacia street and reached second alarm before it was declared under control at 5:49 a.m.

Firefighters doused the flames at 6:23 a.m. Damage to property was placed at P1 million.
